- With webmail: 2mb with every email
An email can be 20mb maximum.
And your mailaccount has to have enough free space to recieve this email.
Free space on your mailaccount:
You can see how much free space you have on your mail-account in mailadministration in the controlpanel.
To see this you will have to click "edit" on the account, and then you will see the free space at the bottom of the screen.
You can create as many email-addresses as you like.
Go into the controlpanel, click on "email", click on "mailadministration".
Click on "create new account" in the left menu.
Input values for these fields:
Email-address: Your new email-address (Note: only text before @ is needed).
Password: The password for your new email-address.
Sender name: The name used when sending an email, will be seen by the addressee.
Space in MB: The size of the new email-account measured in MB.
The user of this email account can do the administation: If this is active, the user can log into the mailadministration and administrate his own email-account and nothing else.
Delivery: Should mails to this account be deleted?
This is mainly used if an email-address is only used for forward from the address. When activated a copy of the forwarded email is not using extra space on the account.
1) Choose "Files" / "Information" and click "Add account".
2) On the next page you should NOT use the form! Instead choose "Configure serversetup manually" and click "Next".
3) Choose "Internet e-mail" and click "Next".
4) Complete the form below:
Your Name: Your name, which will be used when sending emails E-mail-address: Your email-address Account type: POP3 is the default choice, but IMAP can be used if you want a copy of the email stored on the server. Server for incoming mails: mail.[ourdomain.com] Server for outgoing mails(SMTP): mail.[ourdomain.com] Username: Your email-address Password: The password you have chosen, when you created your email-address in the mail-administration of the controlpanel.
5) Click "More options..."
6) At the "Server for outgoing mails"-tab you must select "Server for outgoing mails (SMTP) requires authorisation"
7) At the "Advanced"-tab you should change "Server for outgoing mails (SMTP)" from 25 to 587.
8)Click "OK" and "Next" untill you are back in Outlook. Your email is now ready.
If you experience an error when deleting an email, it is because the program is putting the deleted email in the "Trash folder". This requires extra space in this folder. And if this extra space is not available, an error will appear.
Removing the option that says deleted emails should be moved to the trash-folder. - This is how it's done:
Go into "settings" -> "folder-settings" -> "special-folder-settings"
Select the option: "Trashcan: Do not use trashcan" - Click "save"
1) Click "Create new account", as shown below with the red box
2) Input your name, email-address and password. These is the information you used when creating an email-address on your mailadministration.
Click "next", and Thunderbird will try to find the correct options-
Click on the "edit" button, and choose between POP or IMAP. It has to be chosen here and it can not be changed afterwards.
POP is the default value, mails are saved locally on your pc. When using IMAP mails will be saved on the mail-server instead.
Make sure the serveroptions are as shown below: Servername: mail."yourdomain.com" Port: 110 for POP or 143 for IMAP Username: Your new email-address Connectionsecurity: [none] Approvalmethod: Accesscode, unsecure transfer.
Press "Outgoing server (SMTP)" in the left menu, and click on "edit":
Description: [not important] Servername: mail."yourdomain.com" Port: 587 Approvalmethod: Accesscode, unsecure transfer. Username: Your new email-address
Complete setup by clicking the "OK"-button 2 times untill your are back in the Thundebird program.
